Dear all,
Welcome to your 2nd londonpakistani.com newsletter and Eid Mubarak to you all.
Judging by the number of charity fundraising events taking place in the community, it would appear that the earthquake has had an impact not only on the lives of those living in the disaster affected areas, but on all people of Pakistani origin.

It would seem that most people have either lost someone or know of someone that has been affected by the disaster that literally ‘shook the nation’ during the months of October, and now on into November. But what efforts are really being made, both locally and abroad, to help the victims of the largest and most devastating earthquake to hit Pakistan since its conception? In this months news section we have included a personal summary of a relief effort conducted by a group of doctors and nurses from the UK.
News
We have two articles written in the news section of this month’s newsletter, one by the Pakistan High Commission thanking UK mosques for their efforts in collectively raising half a million pounds which will be donated to the President’s Relief Fund to support victims of the Earthquake (Click below to see the full article).
Article 1: ‘Mosques raise over half a million pounds’

We also have an article written by the Editor of LondonPakistani.com titled ‘A Relief Effort in Pakistan’. Part of this article can be viewed below along with pictures taken during the relief effort in Pakistan:

During the two week relief effort our small group of Doctors and Nurses had an opportunity to help in the management and care of many survivors injured in the earthquake the majority of which, in our case, were children ranging form the ages of a few months to ten years…

Please make every effort to attend these events and show your support for the organisers who have gone out of their way to arrange them.
